Blue Ridge

Antenna & Repeater Installation

IRC Radio wishes to thank the following members: Mark  KC6HMO, Steve KG6GIK, Shane KG6GIN, Russell KG6RUS, Chris KF6RSF, Leon KC6JAR, Kim KF6MFU & Ken W6CPA for braving the elements to install new equiptment to our site on Blue Ridge.

The crew spent two successive Saturdays in November, 2006 installing:

  1. Install a local 220 repeater on 224.480 - PL 100.
  2. Install a local 440 repeater on 446.860-  PL 82.5.
  3. Install a full duplex link between Glassell Park and Las Vegas to link the Las Vegas 220 repeater with the LA system.
  4. Install the controller to run everything.
  5. Install a 440 repeater antenna on the tower.
  6. Install a 220 repeater antenna on the tower.
  7. Install two yagis on the tower for the link antennas.

We were in a hurry to finish the project as the road to the site goes across several Mountain High ski runs and when they start making snow, the site in not accessible. We got finished four days before they started making snow.

IRC Radio wishes to recognize the people who pulled this thing off and made it happen. Without their help Leon and Ken probably would not have got the thing up in time. Mark KC6HMO and Steve KG6GIK who climbed the tower did most of the heavy lifting. Thanks for all of your work on the site!
